First of all what is sweat?
Sweat is a way for your body to regulate its temperature but not only that it’s also your body’s way of detoxifying itself. This is because your body releases accumulated heavy metals and petro chemicals which are chemicals derived from petroleum or natural gas. Your body releases these toxins through your sweat.
Why do we smell when we sweat?
Sweat itself doesn’t actually smell it is water and salt. The smell comes from bacteria on your skin reacting with your sweat.
What is the difference between a deodorant and antiperspirant?
Deodorants don’t stop you from sweating they neutralize odour and kill the bacteria.
Antiperspirants don’t allow you to swe
at this is because they contain aluminium compounds which block up your pores.
What are the risks of using Chemical deodorants and antiperspirants?
Your body likes to absorb things through your skin, so you need to be careful what your putting on it. Most ladies shave there
armpits which can cau
se cuts and if your putting chemical deodorant or antiperspirants on after shaving, chemicals such as parabens and aluminium compounds will be absorbed straight into your body. Parabens have been linked to breast cancer but have not been confirmed to
cause it. Aluminium creates estrogen like effects and causes havoc with your hormones. I always thought I was a really sweaty person and I was using all kinds of antiperspirants to stop the sweat. This was when I was in high school and I used to get really embarrassed when I sweated though my school shirt and had big wet patches under my arms, and lately since using the organic deodorant I’ve noticed I sweat less and I believe this is because the antiperspirant blocks your pores and your body cant release its toxins so it works harder to create more sweat and eventually you will sweat though the antiperspirant and have big wet patches under your arms. I’m so happy with my organic deodorant and if you feel like ‘no this won’t work for me I’m a really sweaty person and nothing works’ just give this deodorant a try because I was very skeptical before using it as well.
Are there any Chemical free deodorants out there?
Yes there is the deodorant I use is the Miessence Tahitian breeze deodorant which contains Sodium bicarbonate which you might remember your grandmother using to get rid of bad smells in the fridge. This is because bicarb soda neutralizes odour and that’s why it works so well in a deodorant. It also contains aloe Vera which most people love because it’s a natural antiseptic and disinfectant. These two products together are what keeps your armpits smelling nice while also letting you sweat naturally so your body can release toxins. There are three deodorants to choose from Tahitian breeze, ancient spice and aroma free. They are all roll on deodorants which is great because they last for a long time and are small enough to carry around with you. truly safe products are hard to find so look at the ingredients and do your own research.

My husband wears women’s deodorant. He is VERY sensitive and gets allergic reactions to most mens deodorants.
This was really informational as I think we all start using deodorant based on tradition … and don’t learn how to pick the right one. Sounds like we want a deodorant, not antiperspirant. Thanks
I love this! I didn’t know the effect of anti-perspirant to our help. I’ll choose organic deodorant from now on.
So glad you’re raising awareness about this! So many people use this product, and yet not many people are aware of how they actually work and what’s in them. We use natural deodorants for this reason!
I feel kind of dumb for not knowing the difference between deodorant and an antiperspirant. I sweat a lot and have ruined a countless number of tops because of underarm spots. Maybe it’s time I try what you are using.
I think that is a common misconception that deodorant stops you from sweating. The organic deodorant is interesting.
Wow… I don’t know about these! I never use deodorant. Maybe I will try the brand you mention here.
You know, I have never thought about the chemicals that are in deodorants. I also didn’t know there was a difference between deodorant and antiperspirant! Wow! I learned something new today. I guess I’ve just been blindly buying deodorant without really thinking about what chemicals are in the product. I am going to start being more mindful of what I use now!! Thank you for this!
I have switch between antiperspirant and I found that my underarms sweat depending on if I use a spray antiperspirant or a caked antiperspirant. This also makes me wonder if my body is so used to caked antiperspirant that it would give a different reaction to spray antiperspirant. I hate having sweaty armpits.
How I wish to always use the natural way to deodorize, but with the fast phase world we are in, it’s so hard to identify or check which one is natural and which one is not. How I wished I wouldn’t be that busy so I can make sure to use safe products.
i am aware of this problem claire that is why i took the time to write a post about green washing but the most effective way is to look for a certification.
It’s good to know that there are natural alternatives these days especially when it comes to deodorant. I really don’t like putting too much chemicals on my body.
Some people tends to have an awful body odor due to the effects of what they eat. Or sometimes they have illness that needs to be checked.
I stopped using deodorants with aluminium a few years ago. I am so glad. I will check out that brand as that one is new to me. The one I use is Adidas for women without aluminium
